Isaiah 57:14 (ESV)
And it shall be said, “Build up, build up,
prepare the way,
remove every obstruction from my people’s way.”

The Legacy

Psalm 100:5
"For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."

God has abundantly blessed First Moore since it opened its doors in 1890, and through His provision, we have been able to expand our facilities to meet the growing needs of our community. A beacon of light in Moore, Oklahoma, First Moore has had a significant impact in our  state and across  the  world. We want to continue the church's legacy, doing work that glorifies God and making disciples of all nations.

The Need

Romans 13:8
''Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law."

During this time of transition, as we pray fervently for our search committee and for the man God is preparing to be our pastor, we also want to prepare the way financially for the future of our church. As many of you are aware, we had to replace all of the AC units in the Worship Center last year and then several units in the West building and Atrium this past spring. We used all of the church's reserve funds and had to borrow money to meet these needs. At this time, we have now replaced about 30 of a total of 100 HVAC units throughout  the facility, which means there are 70 more (from 10-29 years old) that will need replacing in the future.

In addition, the church is still paying off its original construction loan to build the Atrium and the Link. To ensure our debt and pending repairs do not create a financial emergency for our church, we want to pay off the debts and build up funds for future HVAC replacements to lift the heavy financial burden off the new pastor God is preparing.

The Challenge

Proverbs 3:9
''Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops... "

The challenge portion of Prepare the Way kicks off now through the end of 2019 to promote faithful stewardship among our church family to reduce debt, replenish recently used reserve funds and build new reserve funds for expected necessary facility repairs.

We are seeking prayerful pledges to total $1.5 million to be paid by the end of 2020.

The Future

Romans 12:12-13
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

We are prayerfully requesting God's wisdom and leadership as we intentionally seek His plans and purposes for us to further His kingdom. We have faith that the Father wants to continue to bless our church so that we may continue the mission of reaching our surrounding communities with the good news of Jesus Christ.

How can I participate?

2 Corinthians 9:7
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly  or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Please pray about the role you and your family can play in Preparing the Way and in helping us to be good stewards of God's provision and the gifts we have been given. This is our church, and we feel it is urgent that we financially prepare to maintain our property and resources for the health and well-being of our church body and facilities without burdening our existing ministries. We know that God is the source of all generosity and ask that you be intentional with your gifts - whether they are time, talents or treasures.

As members of First Moore, we ask first and foremost that you pray without ceasing:

  • for our community and the lost souls within it

  • for the unity and future vision of our church

  • for our staff and their families

  • for our search committee as they seek the man God is preparing for us

  • for God's guidance in our tithes and offerings

  • to prepare the way, prepare the man God will lead us to and prepare our hearts so that we glorify God in all we do

In addition, as members, we do ask that you financially support this effort over and above tithe through the grace that God has provided each of us voluntarily, individually and sacrificially. Pledge cards are available at church for you to make a prayerful commitment for giving in 2020 or you may begin to give immediately through the regular offering or online. Designate funds as "Prepare the Way."

Let's rise up in faith together,
united as a church body, to…
