WHY SERVE?

Jesus Served

As disciples of Jesus we want to become more like Him and we are most like Jesus when we selflessly serve others.  We read in Matthew 20:28 that, “even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Jesus is King and had every right to demand that people serve Him but He flipped the pendulum and was a servant Himself.

Serving is Fulfilling

God has called all disciples to an active faith. One of the ways we actively pursue God is by serving others. As Ephesians 4:12 says "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ."

There is nothing more satisfying in this world than following Jesus and serving others!

How?

We have two main categories of service at First Moore.

Church Opportunities

These opportunities to serve directly affect our weekly services at First Moore.

Community Opportunities

These opportunities to serve reach beyond our weekly services and often beyond the walls of our church.

You can’t do everything but if we all do something then our church will be on its way to being all that God wants it to be. A good rule of thumb is to serve in one church area and one to two community areas.

Serving Opportunities

Connections Team
Connecting with guests and members from our parking lot all the way to our LifeGroups and services. Serve once a month on a Sunday morning to help make sure our church is a place where people feel welcome, loved and informed.

*Kids Ministry
Serve our Kids Ministry (1st-6th grade) by serving on Sunday mornings or at their activities or events.

Media Ministry
Serve by helping with our soundboard, light board, computers and cameras in both Sunday services and special events throughout the year. There are different skill levels required for serving on this team, training is available for all areas.

Prayer Ministry
