WHY SERVE?
Jesus Served
As disciples of Jesus we want to become more like Him and we are most like Jesus when we selflessly serve others. We read in Matthew 20:28 that, “even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
Jesus is King and had every right to demand that people serve Him but He flipped the pendulum and was a servant Himself.
Serving is Fulfilling
God has called all disciples to an active faith. One of the ways we actively pursue God is by serving others. As Ephesians 4:12 says "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ."
There is nothing more satisfying in this world than following Jesus and serving others!
How?
We have two main categories of service at First Moore.
Church Opportunities
These opportunities to serve directly affect our weekly services at First Moore.
Community Opportunities
These opportunities to serve reach beyond our weekly services and often beyond the walls of our church.
You can’t do everything but if we all do something then our church will be on its way to being all that God wants it to be. A good rule of thumb is to serve in one church area and one to two community areas.
Serving Opportunities
Care Center
Serve twice a month on Monday mornings or evenings with our Care Center team, helping meet the needs of our community by packaging groceries and loading carts for families. Volunteers should be able to stand for a couple of hours and handle some heavy lifting.
Connections Team
From the parking lot to Life Groups and services, our Connection Team helps guests and members feel welcome, loved, and informed. Serve once a month on Sunday mornings to help create a friendly, inviting church visit.
AVL Ministry
Serve by running audio, video, and lighting for Sunday services and special events. Whether you’re new or experienced, there’s a place for you, and we provide training for every role.
Prayer Ministry
Be a part of our 24/7 intercessory prayer ministry by committing to pray one hour a week in our on-campus prayer room.
*Preschool Ministry
Serve once a month with our Preschool Ministry (birth–K) on Sunday mornings or at other special opportunities, helping our little ones learn, play, and grow in their faith.
*Kids Ministry
Bring energy, laughter, and the love of Jesus to kids (1st–6th grade)! Serve on Sunday mornings or jump in at special activities and events where you can help kids grow in faith, make friends, and have an unforgettable time.
*Student Ministry
Invest in our students (7th–12th grade) by volunteering during Wednesday night worship or at activities and events, building relationships and pointing students to Christ.
Worship Ministry
Help lead our church family in worship by joining the Band, Choir, or serving in Student or Kid Worship Arts, using your gifts to glorify God and inspire others.
*A background check and other requirements will be expected to serve in these areas.
