A Word From Charlie Blount
Dear First Baptist Church of Moore
It is through deliberate prayer and seeking of God’s will that I come in view of a call to lead and serve First Baptist Church of Moore in the role of pastor. My family and I feel confident that the Lord has led us to become part of your church body, and to work alongside you in advancing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Your search committee and my family have prayed diligently, seeking God’s will and direction, and this seeking has led us to this important moment. We have not rushed into this partnership but have watched God work in many ways over the last few months to lead us to this important and exciting time for you and us.
I am well aware of the rich history and ministry of First Baptist Church of Moore as it has been an example of God’s grace and redeeming work for many years. While First Baptist Church of Moore has a rich history, I believe that God has so much more of the story that He wants to write. There are still many souls to be saved, many disciples yet to be made, and much work to be done. By God’s grace and power, we will work together to continue the work that God began in First Baptist Church of Moore many years ago.
Over the years many things have changed. While the culture has changed and the methods used to reach the culture change, the tried and true Word of God never changes. The same gospel that has transformed lives for over two thousand years is still mankind’s only hope, and you and I are stillcommanded to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus promised us that He would build His church and gave us His Spirit to empower us. Together we can accomplish His plan and mission. This is the simple but important end to which I will lead you: That our Father would be glorified, and disciples of Jesus would be made.
For His glory and your joy,
Charlie Blount
