On the 24th of March, we will have our first Worship Service in the newly remodeled Worship Center! We are so excited to be back in the larger space! With the move, we will go back to meeting all together in one service at 10:30am. Our Life Groups will also all meet at the same time at 9:00am. Woo!

Adult Life Group Directors and Teachers are invited and encouraged to come to a lunch and training on January 8th. You will hear from your Discipleship Pastor, John Wilkerson, and share a lunch with your fellow Life Group Leaders. Childcare will be available by registration only.

We are going to kick-off 2023 with our first worship service in the Atrium at 10:30am.
There will be no Life Groups but there will be Preschool Ministry for infants through 4’s.

All Life Group Leaders are invited and encouraged to come to a lunch and training on August 7th. You will hear from your new Discipleship Pastor, John Wilkerson, and share a lunch with your fellow Life Group Leaders.

Adults and students (7th-12th) will meet in the Atrium at noon for lunch. Childcare and lunch are provided for children (babies-6th). Preschool and Kids will have pizza in childcare. They will be taken to the appropriate rooms for childcare and pizza following Extended Session or Life Group; parents do not need to pick their children up following the worship service.  5th and 6th graders should go to the Kids’ Game Room following worship service for childcare/pizza.    

After the meal is over in the Atrium, John will meet with the Adult Life Group Leaders in the Atrium and all Next Gen Life Group Leaders will be dismissed.  Student Leaders will meet with Jason in the Student Center. Preschool and Kids Leaders will meet with Ben and Tara in rooms W118/W119. Students (7th-12th) will go to the Game Room in the Student Center. 

Following training, Kids can be picked up in the Kids’ Game Room. Preschool should be picked up from the green and purple halls.

One of the great vehicles of spiritual growth we have at First Moore are our many different LifeGroups. Some meet on campus on Sunday mornings, others meet off campus during the week. Some are for four year olds, others are for people who wish to not have their age shared. No matter the make up of a group, we have one goal for all groups: to help know, follow, and become like Jesus.

As we begin a new year, we want to have a time to gather all of our many diffferent LifeGroup leaders for a meal, a time of encouragement and a time of prepartion for a fruitful year of ministry.

Please join us on Wednesday, January 5 for a special night for all LifeGroup leaders at 6:30pm in the atrium. Childcare is available and the meal is free but please help us be prepared for all who wish to come by signing up through the button below.

For the past 8 years, Doug has served as First Moore’s Associate Pastor of Equipping and Discipleship. Before that, Doug served from 1997 to 2000 as the Singles Pastor. As the year 2021 comes to a close, so does the “3rd quarter” of Doug’s ministry. He will retire from full time ministry here at First Moore on December 31 and begin, as he has said, “the 4th quarter.” Join us in celebrating the ministry of Doug Dees before service on Sunday, December 12 from 8:30 to 10:15am. Grab and go breakfast items will be provided to enjoy as we thank and appreciate Doug for his many years of faithful service at First Moore.

When: On Saturday, October 2 we are going to have a time for LifeGroups to clean up and prepare their room for use. We will work in two primary shifts. First, from 8:00am-9:30am, people can clean-up their LifeGroup rooms and place bags of trash and other debris in the hallway. Second, from 9:30am-11:00am we will have people that carry the debris and trash to a roll off dumpster outside the east entrance.

Why: Over the years things tend to pile up and get a little bit dingy. Because we faithfully attend our LifeGroups we don’t notice the pile of curriculum from 1999 in the corner or the faded posters on the wall. The piles and mess can communicate many things to new people that are not true. Because we think we should take care of the resources that God has given us and because we don’t want to create unnecessary stumbling blocks for people, we decided it was time to clean up.

How: This will be a three phase process that can begin now:

• Phase 1: Prep Work-

  • Many of us have changed meeting rooms in the past month. There may be things that you left behind in your former room. Please go to that room by Sunday, September 26 and retrieve any decorations or items you would like to keep. Additionally, if there is furniture your group has purchased, and you would like be moved to your meeting room please mark it with a sticky note your group name and your new room number.

  • If you need access to your room other than Sunday mornings between 8:00am and noon please contact Juli at juli.harman@firstmoore.com or 405-793-2620.

  • By Sunday, October 3 all of our adult LifeGroups should be in a room that we will work for them for the foreseeable future. Use the attached October 3 room list as you begin thinking about the room you will clean up and refresh.

  • Select a small group of volunteers that will be responsible for the vision for the decorating of your LifeGroup room. As you prepare to give your room a refresh, please keep in mind:

    • Less is more.

    • Your room is a shared space.

    • Neutral décor is best.

    • Your room is for discipleship, not storage.

  • Gather volunteers to come be a part of the clean-up day on October 2.

• Phase 2: Clean-up Day- Join us for clean-up day and prepare your room to be a great a place to connect people to God and community.

• Phase 3: Routine Maintenance- Once the job is done, the work has just begun. Take time each month to make sure your room is clean and ready to minister to the people you have and the people God will bring in the future.
